Unit 4

When starting this experience, it felt odd to be focusing love inward. I am aware that we should love ourselves, one because it helps us to love others, and two because it helps others to love us, but it just seemed strange actually going through this process. After I got a little further in though I began to feel more at ease which allowed me to open my mind further, and get a better results from the experience. I had difficulty beginning this exercise, but I think that in time I will get better at it and will then be able to have a better experience. I'm not really sure if I would recommend this to others or not. It isn't exactly a conversation starter, but if I knew someone need help, then I would explain the process to them and see if it was something they were interested in.

  1. Hello John, I had difficulty at the start of this exercise too. What helped me get into it was concentrating on breathing while following the prompts. What a "mental workout." I hope the next time we both try it we get better at it...practice makes perfect. Take care.

  2. Hi John,
You are not the one that have problem with this exercise. At the begining, I have difficult time of listening to somebody at the audio telling you about love and kindness. This remind me that I went to Roman Catholic School that the priest told you about loving youself as well as stanger. To me, I am not a person that love others that I am not custom of not knowing whom they are. The only thing that keep me from doing this exercise was to shoving snow and listening this audio for couple of days.

  3. John,
I agree with Howell, concentrating on the breathing then following the prompts made participating in the exercise easier. Maybe next time you will have a better experience.
